Hi:

The only place I know of where you can buy the HP recovery kit for your notebook would be from this vendor at the link below:

Computer Surgeons - Windows 10 Home Home - 64 Recovery Kit Part Number L50426-001 For Laptop Model N...

You can always reinstall W10 for free by making a bootable USB installation flash drive with the media creation tool from the link below:

Download Windows 10

After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page:

Thank you for quick response and the HP community.

I followed your instructions and downloaded the USB media.  When I tried to install the Windows 10, I was not able to install it on C: driver.  I watch several YouTube videos. They run command DISKPART> clean and remove all partition data. I don't want to wipe out my data from D drive.

Could I format "Drive 0 partition 3" and change its type from "Primary" to "GPT" directly?

Could you please share your experience to solve my problem?

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately, I don't know if you can do that.

But if you only want to recover files, photos, music, etc., from partition 4, if Windows lets you install on partition 4, it will create a Windows.old folder.

Just make sure you don't delete or format that partition prior to proceeding to install Windows.

After Windows has completed installing, you can browse to the Windows.old folder, find your old user profile and copy and paste the folders from your old user profile and let them overwrite the empty folders in your new user profile and all of your info that you had on the old installation should be present in the new folders.

If you have other files not in your user old user profile, you can still look for them wherever you had them saved in the Windows.old folder.

After I installed OS in drive D:, it scanned the disk automatically and then into "Hard Disk Error" status. I had to run "HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI" but I could not exit to shutdown laptop. If I select "exit" as in the second picture, it will return to the first picture status. It becomes a loop status.

Unfortunately I don't know what the problem could be.

I recommend that you start a new discussion on that problem.

You may need to install a new drive.

Thank for your suggestion about a new drive.  What is the interface of the old hard disk drive for HP 15-da0078nr? Which HHD parameters should I select? Could I replace the defective one with a TOSHIBA 2.5 hard drive or any other brands SSD?
