My laptop NVME SSD died. Ok, that sucks, but no big deal. I've got some others around like Samsung 980 EVO Pro...pull out the old put in the new. BIOS sees it, but when I try to reinstall Windows 11 it is not recognized by Windows. Ok, maybe that drive just isn't compatible. Purchase a Sandisk 2280 NVME...same thing. Anyone have an idea what's going on?? Also, I thought it might be a BIOS thing, but for some reason with these HP laptops you can't update the BIOS unless you're in the OS. That doesn't make sense, but one issue at a time..smh.

What you need to do is to load the Intel RST drivers at the screen where Windows can't find any drives.
I zipped up and attached those drivers below which are good for all Intel PC's with the 11th>13th gen core processors.
Unzip and copy all of the files in the folder in the attachment to a USB flash drive.
Have the flash drive and your Windows installation media plugged into USB ports.
Boot from the Windows installation flash drive.
When you get to the screen where no drives can be found, click on the Load driver option, browse to the flash drive with the storage controller drivers on it.
If you check the box, it will only include the compatible driver.
If Windows still can't find the drive, uncheck the box to include the compatible driver and try any of the ones listed.
