There are only two components in a laptop that make any noise -- the hard drive and the fans.
The drive is usually so quiet that it's very hard to hear it and even then, when it does make noise those are very quite clicking sounds.
The fans are the main culprit and it those are really LOUD, depending on the age of the laptop, I would suspect they are dying -- and if that is the case, the laptop will overheat and shut down due to thermal issue. This sounds like what is happening to yours.
If the fan bearings are shot, the fan(s) will need to be replaced and that is something you need to pay someone to do, as disassembling and reassembling a modern laptop is not an easy thing to do.
HP does not do this kind of work, so you will have to hunt down a local laptop repair shop.
