My touchscreen on my laptop was working fine up until recently, my pen has also stopped working which is a pain on the lead up to exams. The HP virtual assistant is useless and i have to pay to talk to someone does anyone have any tips I've ran all bios checks.

Hi @Evie30,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

That sounds frustrating, especially with exams coming up. Let's try some troubleshooting steps to see if we can get your touchscreen and pen working again.

  • Restart your laptop: Sometimes a simple restart can resolve hardware issues. It refreshes the system and can fix minor glitches.
  • Check for Updates: Make sure your laptop's operating system and drivers are up to date. Sometimes outdated software can cause compatibility issues with hardware components.
  • Check Pen Batteries: If your pen requires batteries, ensure they're not depleted. Replace them if necessary.
  • Check Pen Connectivity: If your pen connects via Bluetooth, make sure it's properly paired with your laptop. Check the Bluetooth settings to ensure the connection is active.
  • Calibrate Touchscreen: Go to your laptop's settings and look for the touchscreen calibration option. Recalibrate the touchscreen to see if it helps.
  • Hardware Diagnostics: Some laptops come with built-in diagnostic tools that can identify hardware issues. Check your laptop's manual or HP website for instructions on how to run diagnostics.
  • System Restore: If the issue started recently and you can pinpoint when it began, you might try restoring your system to a point before the problem occurred.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
