I have a HP Pavilion laptop purchased in 2014. This PC came with Pre installed Windows OS 8.1. However my laptop OS was migrated to Windows 10 and I have been using the same for couple of years.
Recently my Harddrive got failed and I had to reinstall the OS and other software. However I am struggling to restore some of the Non HP bundled preinstall software which was available could not be restored. I am not able to use HP Recovery manager as its missing!. I have installed HP assistant to see whether I can get the update on some of the preinstalled software came with this laptop. But it is showing none (probably this is because out of warranty).. How can I get hold of the software which was there for e.g. Webcam, Media player, etc ( Cyberlink). Is there way to download these softwares!

Forcing the installation of HP Recovery Manager is wasting your time! Why?
Because Upgrading to Win10 is known to corrupt the very recovery information that the HP manager uses. So because you did the Upgrade, you can not NOW do a recovery.
The only recourse you have at this point, to go back to the original preinstalled OS, is to order something known as HP Recovery Media ...
HP Recovery Media is a set of DVDs and a CD, or USB stick, that will erase the hard drive (removing all data, settings, and applications, reinstall the original OS, drivers, and some HP Utilities.
In some cases, you may be able to order a USB stick instead of disks. You have to order these from HP; they can not be downloaded.
You can look online for Recovery Media starting with the linked paged: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers
Once there, input your Product name or number. On your Software and Drivers Download page, select your Operating System and and Version. Click "Update". If HP Recovery Media is available for your machine, down near the bottom of the page, you will see an entry for Order Recovery Media-CD/DVD/USB. Click the "+" symbol to expand that entry and click on Order Media for details.
Or, if you prefer, you can do the same by contacting HP Customer Service:
If you live in the US or Canada, contact information is on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1
If you live elsewhere, contact information is on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html
NOTE: After you get through, stay on the line until you are finally able to talk to some one -- it can take a while!
If you have trouble finding a phone number, then try: 1 (650) 857-1501.
If HP no longer provides Recovery Media for your model, another site you can check is: http://www.computersurgeons.com
When you get the media, if it is a USB stick, insert it into your PC, pressing F9 to get a Boot menu, then select the External USB Hard Drive to boot from it.

Thank you for your very detailed mail.
Yes I understand what you are saying! I was only looking to use this recovery manager to restore the other files (media software). The support link w.r.t my laptop do not list media softwares (cyberlink) for download. Hence I just thought recovery manager might help in restoring the same. I had kept earlier backup of 8.1 factory reset but did not bother later as moved to Windows 10.
Blue little boy helped me and shared the link for the Cyberlink softwares which I could download and install!
Thankyou once agan for the effort you had taken to help me in this issue.
regards

Thank-you, Thank-you, and Thank-you!!!
A couple of years ago, I reset my computer (Windows 10) and to my surprise, the Cyberlink DVD Player and other software, that came with the HP Pavillion, wasn't there.
Just bought a collection of DVD's and neither VLC, or Real Player or anyother software would run the DVD's. So I went on a Cyperlink DVD Player journer and came across your downloads. Hah! I'm all powered up, and thanks to you, I've everything that was lost after my PC reset.
Then again, nothing is ever lost:-)
