G62 Notebook
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)
After Windows 7 became slow and hard to use for everyday work, installed Ubuntu alongside Windows 7, but now I would like to completely restore the notebook to factory conditions. I attempted to do a minimum restore from the HP recovery Manager, but it told me, "Restoration Incomplete". It threw the same message at me when I tried to do a full restore. The error it gives me under the details tab is "File doesn't exist!" I suspect this is because an i installed Ubuntu alongside Windows I may have overwritten one of the recovery partitions. How can I fix this?

I assume you never made your Recovery Discs? HP may still have them for your model ,call and ask.> >Contact HP

You will need "full" model number/product number and possibly serial number:

If you can still read the 25 character license key on label attached to bottom of laptop you could download an iso to make a dvd to install Windows 7. Use the license key to activate.

This will be a pure Windows install wthout the software/drivers from HP. You will download the drivers-using the "full" model number I mentioned above- from your model's Support page,

I completed the steps in the provided link, and it said to seek help here on the forums.

Thanks, I will try to download the ISO on another computer, as the recovery tool erased my hard drive.

You can download and burn the iso to dvd on any machine.

I should probably quote my replies :p.

Yeah, I just have to get my hands on one, as this laptop was my only *working* machine.

The only other machine I have access to is a school laptop which doesn't allow me to run any programs but preinstalled ones. I attempted to go here to download an ISO, but microsoft told me that the key was for preinstalled software, and that I wouldn't be able to download an ISO to make a fresh install. Is there anything  I can do at this point? I wish I didn't have to jump through so many hoops just to reinstall Windows.
