Hi @Fluffycat2002,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
The message “System BIOS Pending Image is cleared. Do not shutdown or remove power…” typically appears during a BIOS update or recovery process. If your HP laptop is stuck in a restart loop showing this message briefly, it likely means the BIOS update process was interrupted or corrupted, possibly due to the battery replacement.
1. Perform a BIOS Recovery Using Key Combination
HP laptops have a built-in BIOS recovery feature:
- Turn off the laptop completely.
- Press and hold the Windows + B keys, then press and hold the power button for 2–3 seconds.
- Release all keys.
- Wait for the BIOS recovery screen to appear. If it does, follow the prompts to restore or update the BIOS.
If this doesn’t work, try Windows + V instead of Windows + B.
2. Create a BIOS Recovery USB (if key combo fails)
- On another working PC, go to:
👉 HP Notebook PCs - Recovering the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) | HP® Support - Download the BIOS update for your laptop model from:
👉 Official HP® Drivers and Software Download | HP® Support - Use the HP BIOS Update utility to create a recovery USB.
- Insert the USB into your affected laptop and repeat the Windows + B recovery steps.
3. If Recovery Fails
If the laptop continues restarting without entering recovery:
- Disconnect the battery and CMOS (if accessible), wait 5 minutes, reconnect, and try again.
- If the BIOS chip is corrupted beyond recovery, the motherboard may need service.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!
