While doing Windows updates on my notebook I noticed there were several “others” (how Windows Update page describes them). In reviewing, one was an HP firmware update I I cannot get any specifics since my notebook will no longer open). I downloaded and installed this HP update to which a reboot was required. When I rebooted the notebook opened with “please wait while we install a system update.” After about a 20 second delay, the notebook just turns off and starts again, doing the same thing. An endless cycle of this if I let it go on.

I can only break the cycle with with [F] keys so I can still get into my BIOS settings but cannot find my recovery USB or CD (yes I still have them) to get back into the computer to remove this damaging update.
