I bought the notebook at walmart with w8.0 built-in, so (as an OEM) it wasnt eligible for the free upgrade to win 10, i downloaded the ENTERPRISE/Developer's version of w10 and used it for the 90 day promo then it expired. I BOUGHT a win7 professional download from a reputable place and loaded it but i need a bunch of drivers but in order to get the REST of them i need to START with the network adapter driver so i can even GET online to get the other drivers!  HELP ME PLEASE

Thanx cheryl. Actually when I went to walmart the Electronics manager told me that I had to call HP and I did and they said since its OEM the free upgrade doesnt apply. On the current issue I actually joined HP Smartfriend and found out the only drivers avail are for 8.1 and 10 so theyre gonna send me the 8.1 recovery disks which will have everything  and I have to eat the 40 bux i spent on the copy of win 7 professional thanx anyway.

It would help us to help you if we know which wireless card you have. HP uses Ralink, Intel,Realtek, etc in various machines.

Btw-who told you OEM doesn't qualify for free Windows 10 upgrade? Two machines here  got the free upgrade.

Not sure why you were told that. On the HP machines here the upgrade to Windows 10 was offered from Microsoft and downloaded/installed when I accepted it.

Even though drivers are only provided officially for Windows 8 on HP site there are many who post here looking for drivers after downgrading- and get the drivers, usually borrowed from another model with same hardware. For instance> this guy bought a notebook with FreeDos and needed drivers for Windows 8.
