HP 2000
Microsoft Windows XP

HP 2000 laptop won’t power on. Battery light blinks white. Tried a new adapter power cord and laptop still won’t power up.

Tried hard reset multiple times with battery removal and still won’t power up. No other lights blink on the laptop besides the white battery light.

Removed the the battery and plugged in the power cord.  Battery light stays solid white, laptop still will not turn on.

i know the computer is old but I need it for work and have no access to a new computer, so I need this to work a little longer.  As a side note, all the recent updates have made the computer slower and slower.

Thanks.

My guess, based on your comments, is that either the battery has died, or the charger, or both -- but if this PC is STILL running Windows XP, as your post indicates, then you are basically out of luck regarding any support.

HP, like Microsoft, stopped supporting XP machines some years ago.

You could consider trying to get repair estimates using the links below, but any such estimate is most likely to be much more than it would cost to replace the laptop ...

For repair estimates, you would need to contact an HP Repair or Service Center.
If you live in the U.S., here is a link to the HP Service Repair Centers:

If you live outside the U.S., here is a link to HP Service Centers, by Country/Region: https://support.hp.com/in-en/service-center
Good Luck
