Troubleshooting Recurring Issues of Laptop Hanging and Slow Performance

If your HP Laptop 15s-gr0xxx is experiencing issues with hanging and slow performance, you can follow these steps to improve its operation.

1. Check for Updates

Ensure your software is up to date. This includes operating system updates, drivers, and BIOS updates. You can do this through HP Support Assistant or manually on the HP website.

2. Free Up Disk Space

Low disk space can slow your laptop. Remove unnecessary files, programs, and use disk cleanup tools.

3. Check Startup Programs

Too many programs starting up with Windows can slow down your laptop. Disable unnecessary startup programs via Task Manager:

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
  • Go to the 'Startup' tab and disable unnecessary programs.

4. Scan for Malware

Malware can significantly affect performance. Run a full system scan using your preferred antivirus software.

5. Optimize Memory Usage

Close applications you are not using. Too many applications running simultaneously can overload your system's memory.

6. Defragment Your Hard Drive

If you are using a traditional HDD, defragmentation can help. For SSD users, this step is not necessary.

7. Review and Adjust Power Settings

Set your laptop to High Performance mode:

  • Go to Control Panel > Power Options.
  • Select 'High Performance' plan.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
