That is what it is. The hard drive needs to be replaced. Not expensive or too difficult to do. There is an easily removeable service cover and the hard drive is right there:
See p. 40-41. You have either a 250 or 320 gig hard drive and a 500 gig would cost $37 on amazon.com:
We can help you find Windows 7 to download and make an installer disk. Can you still read the Key Code on the bottom or inside the battery bay?
You may be able to save some or all of the files off the old hard drive, too. My only hesitation is that is a pretty old machine and you may not wish to invest anything in it which would be understandable.
