HP Pavilion 14 Laptop PC 14-dv2000 (4Z018AV)

Hi, I'm having some problem in my newly purchased laptop. The machine came with window 11 and was working fine. I needed to install linux (ubuntu) operating system for my work. I already had the flash drive for the same, so I initiated the installation and while partitioning I deleted windows (all) partitions, [as I thought, I'll never use window], and started the installation process, but installation because of some reason failed.
So I tried again to install using the same process, but this time my system is not able to detect nvme ssd drive, so I'm not able to install any operating system . Please help me

Hi @5CD242HGH1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP hard drive is not being detected during the installation of the operating system, it could be due to a number of reasons.

  • Incorrect BIOS settings: Check your BIOS settings to ensure that your hard drive is enabled and set to the correct boot order. If it's not, adjust the settings accordingly.
  • Faulty cables or connections: Check that all cables and connections between the hard drive and the motherboard are properly connected and functioning. If there is any damage to the cables, replace them.
  • Faulty hard drive: It's possible that the hard drive is faulty or has failed. Try connecting the hard drive to another computer to see if it is recognized. If it's not, the hard drive may need to be replaced.
  • Compatibility issues: Ensure that the hard drive is compatible with your computer and operating system. Check the manufacturer's website for compatibility information.
  • Partition issues: If the hard drive has been previously partitioned or formatted, there may be issues with the partition tables or file systems. Use a partition manager tool to check and fix any issues.
  • Outdated BIOS or drivers: Ensure that your BIOS and drivers are up to date. Check the manufacturer's website for any available updates.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
