Hi,
i have hp pavilion g6 laptop and its upgraded from windows 8 to 8.1 then windows 10. From last few days i was getting "Memory_Management", "Kernel_Data_Inpage_Error" and so many other errors with blue screen. Due to this i have to power off the system from main power button by holding for few seconds. Now i was getting hang problem. I saw in task manager that DISK UTILIZATION was 100%. I did a hardware test where i got below results :
HARD DRIVE SHORT DST Check : WARNING
HARD DRIVE Optimized DST Check : FAILED
FAILURE ID: 9U3UWX-6KT85B-MFPWWJ-61Q003
Can anybody tell me how to resolve this or i need to replace the hard drive.
-Thanks
Pankaj

Yes you need to replace the hard drive. Since you have upgraded to Windows 10 it is very easy to get recovery media directly from the Microsoft Media Creation Tool. For most people, the problem is not physically swapping out the hard drive, but restoring the operating system since they do not have recovery disks. Post back if you want a service manual and/or video showing the replacement, purchase options for a new hard drive and step-by-step for restoring Windows 10.
We would need the full model...g6-????

One question at a time. OK now the model number.

And this shows how to do it.

We can do a mechanical hard drive, slower but cheaper or a solid state drive, faster and bit more expensive.

Originally you had a 500 gig 5400 rpm drive. That is small and very slow by today's standards.
This is a 7200 rpm 500 gig hard drive and would be a good replacement at a very low price. A slight performance upgrade, but no larger capacity.
Use the video I linked above (youtube.com) and put this new drive in the computer in place of the bad hard drive. Use the instructions from the Windows 10 page to make a bootable thumb drive or DVD to reinstall Windows 10 onto the new drive. If any drivers are missing they will likely be supplied by Windows Update and, if not, we can help you find them. You will have to reinstall programs but we may be able to rescue files off the old drive (pictures, music, movies).
If you want to speed up the system we can refer you to a solid state drive. If you feel you need more storage we can refer you to a larger capacity drive.
If you need more explicit instructions on installing from the Windows 10 disk or drive, let us know.
