Diagnostic test has failed…
Hard Drive Short DST Check : FAILED
FAILURE ID : RLMX39-7LGBP3-MFGJLJ-60XX03
Can this be resolved with a BIOS update or is the drive U/S. what does the code indicate?
Many thanks

Hi:
You will have to install a new hard drive and reinstall the operating system.
Below is the link to the service manual where you can find the hard drive removal and replacement procedure.
You may want to consider replacing the 1 TB mechanical hard drive with a better performing 1 TB 2.5" solid state drive (SSD).
After you replace the drive, use another PC and an 8 GB USB flash drive to create a bootable W10 installer with the Media creation tool from the link below.
Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)
After you boot from the installation media and get past the 'Install Now' screen, you will be asked to select the version of W10 you want to install. Select W10 Home.
Then you will be asked to enter a product key. Select the 'I don't have a product key' option and W10 will install and then activate after you are connected to the internet.
After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.
