Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I've had this computer since 2014 and want to give it to my little sister since I have a new computer. I did a hard reset, the one that is recommended for recycling the computer and takes a long time, that deleted all my files. I started it back up and it was asking for a username and password, so I tried my old login and it didn't work and I never made an administrator account. I found a troubleshoot tip where I can get around needing a login but when I got to the desktop, the error "C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is unavailable" pops up. I can't click anything on my screen or even connect to the internet. All the videos I've tried watching to fix it, they can still do stuff on their computer so please help me!

Hi

This part only works when a valid Recovery Partition is enabled.
Turn off the computer.
Disconnect all connected devices and cables, Media Drives, USB drives, printers, & faxes.
Remove media from internal drives, and remove any recently added internal hardware.
Do not disconnect the monitor, keyboard, mouse, or power cord.
WARNING - ONE WAY ONLY, WIPES ALL DATA - NON-RECOVERABLE
Turn on the computer and repeatedly press the F11 key, about once every second,
until the Choose an option screen is displayed, and then continue.

On the Choose an Option screen, click Troubleshoot, and work your way through the screens.

"deleted all my files."    That is normal.

""asking for a username and password""   Normal behaviour, so you create one.

If in doubt please ask.
