Hard drive 1 failure repair?

Today i ran a diagnostic test and it says hard drive 1 failure and windows keeps saying repairing disks errors it's been doing that for about 10+ hours. How do I go about fixing this the warranty is up on the computer can anyone tell me what hard drive I should buy. I didn't have many things on the computer so I should be fine in terms of data. I see hard drives on amazon but don't know which to buy.

The HP specs I found for your model says it has both an SSD and a HDD.  So, to be sure, you should disconnect the HDD and run the drive diagnostics again -- to confirm it is not the SDD that is failing.

 

The HDD is a standard laptop SATA drive, so any similar 1TB SATA laptop drive will do to replace it.  Typical brands include Seagate and Western Digital.
