Hard drive failure

Hi:

The error code reported, Hard Disk 1 SMART Hard Drive Detects Imminent Failure, means the hard drive is about to fail, or has failed, needs to be replaced, and the operating system reinstalled.

Since you already tried to install W10 and it didn't work, your next step would be to replace the hard drive.

Ok. As i thought then..

So what kind of hard drive is compatible?

Is it only thé rpm that should be the same?

I want a low price. But is it sure that one from another brand Will fit?

Simply... What should i look for? 😅🍀😊

Hi:

I would recommend that you replace the drive with a 500 GB solid state drive for better performance and reliability.

I have this model in my PC and it works great.  I don't know if you can get it in Scandinavia, but it would be worth it.

Here is the link to the service manual for your notebook, where can find the hard drive R & R procedure...

Ok! So a ssd is faster?

Any reason why downsizing from 1tb to 500gb?

So these harddrives can fit in many different kinds of computers?

Was hoping to find abit more budget though.

Yes, that 2.5" drive will replace any 2.5" mechanical hard drive for any notebook.

SSD's are faster and generally more reliable, but they cost more than a mechanical hard drive.

A 1 TB drive of the same brand would cost $108.00 USD.

I don't keep a lot of files on my notebook hard drives, so 250 - 500 GB is more than enough for me.

If you want a decent 1 TB hard mechanical hard drive, this is a good model and probably a little faster than the one your notebook came with.  $49 USD.
