Hello , so i recently hit my laptop to hard and a error popped up on my screen and it said “ hard drive failure “ does anyone know how to fix or do I need to get a new laptop ?

Hi:

 

You can replace the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a new one and reinstall W10 for free.

 

Below is the link to the service manual where you can find the hard drive removal and replacement procedure.

 

HP 15 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide

 

I recommend that you replace the 2.5" drive with a better performing 2.5" SATA SSD.

 

After you replace the drive, you can reinstall W10 for free by making bootable installation media with the Media creation tool.

 

Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)

 

After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.
