I had a notification that my boot device was not found .when i ran quick check of the hard drive i got:

SMART CHECK :FAILED

FAILURE ID : 68AN7K-8GDBRT-MFPX6K-60B103

PRODUCT ID :Z6J33EA#ABE

should i get another hard drive or is it fixable?

and thank you guys for your help

It is rare, but possible, that the problem is loose cabling or bad contact.  I would run a scandisk and try to repair the drive then download the free version of hard drive sentinel.  That app can make a recommendation.  I had CRC errors that were fixed with a better cable when I thought that the drive was bad.

You can replace you disk.  There are two ways.

If you can do the repair to where your current drive is still good, then clone it to the replacement.

 

If cloning cannot be done then use the HP cloud recover that your system is approved for

Use a 32gb flash drive as there is a lot of free stuff.
