HP Notebook - 15-bs033clThe

The hard drive died and I replaced it. The computer is now working.

How and where can I get the OS (window) to re-install on the new hard drive so we can continue to use the computer?

@milktoast

If your PC is a 2016 model or newer, you should see if you can make a bootable USB recovery drive using the HP cloud recovery tool on a working PC.

The recovery drive can then be used to install Win10 and the HP drivers and utilities that originally came with your PC.

Hi,

I installed a new SSD to my laptop (HP Pavillion 15-CS3052tx) when I tried to clone the OS from HDD the process failed. Then I clean installed OS to SSD yet the OS is not as smooth as before. So when using HP cloud recovery tool do I need to disconnect my laptops HDD?

Thank you.

@MalinduNawa

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Firstly, download the recovery image use HP recovery cloud tool and then insert only the SSD to install OS on it and then insert the HDD.

I would request you to reach out to our HP Smart Friend Support and our Support Engineers should be able to sort this out. HP Smart Friend Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
