Product: Hp pavilion 17 notebook PC
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Upon turning on my notebook, I’m getting in a spinning loop and eventually a black screen , no cursor. I tried power off and on three times and get the preparing your pc, then black screen. I ran a system check and got the DST hard drive short failure.   I can also hear a clicking sound, can I do anything to fix this?

Try to format the hard drive and clean install Windows

The short DST failure means the hard drive needs to be replaced and the operating system reinstalled.

 

Consult the maintenance and service guide for your specific model notebook for the hard drive removal and replacement procedure.
