My friend’s laptop froze in the middle of a system recovery, and when I tried to reset it to factory settings I began getting a boot driver error. After running a hardware diagnostic test I got this Failure code. RLQ07D-8B19N1-MFGK7F-618L03, the product id is W2K88UA#ABA. If it helps, He said his computer gave him a blue screen of death after freezing while playing a game, which is what led him to try to run a system recovery.

Hi,
The error code reported, Hard Disk 1 Full Test Failure means that the hard drive needs to be replaced, and the operating system reinstalled.
Below is the link to the service manual for the notebook. The HDD R & R procedure can be found in chapter 5.

If your friend doesn't need the 1 TB of disk space, you can get a 500 GB better performing, normally more reliable solid state drive (SSD).

You may be able to reinstall W10 by using the Cloud recovery client software, since the info link is listed on that model's support page.
