I got a Smart HDD error on startup. I started the PC Hardware Diagnostics but it seems stuck at 40%. The fan is running and I have the spinning circle,

Hi @DDF314 

 

The Smart disk error is critical. In general, the disk is damaged and must be replaced. In some cases, using an external disk enclosure via USB, which does not use the disk's SMART controller, you can view the disk and recover the data.
