HP ENVY x360 Convertible
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've been trying to keep up with the on-again, off-again status of the October 2018 update (Windows 1809), but Microsoft announced it was resuming the rollout a couple of months ago.

But, I still haven't received anything (even after manual checks for updates) on my HP ENVY x360 Convertible.

I am current on all HP drivers and patches (as per the HP Support Assistant), and MS still sends me cumulative updates, etc.

Just no sign of 1809?

I've also read that MS is holding back on sending 1809 to devices with "known problems," so I'm beginning to wonder if my Envy falls into that category?

Anyone else have any experience with the upgrade, one way or the other?

Hi:

I had only one PC get the 1809 update via Windows Update.

The rest I updated by clicking on the blue Update Now button at the link below...

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

There was a known issue when the update first came out.

Some folks lost files from their documents folder for an unknown reason.

Microsoft then removed the update from their website and halted sending it to PC's via Windows Update.

In late November they supposedly fixed the problem that caused this to happen and have since put the update back on the website.

I have updated all of my PC's to v1809 and had no issues at all.

I'm thinking this was the smoothest transition yet (at least for me).

I routinely had audio issues on 2 PC's when updating the various builds up to and including v1803.

From 1803>1809, no issues with anything.
