@200SXS14, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP DV6 that does not connect to the Explorer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
It sounds frustrating to have your internet showing as connected but Internet Explorer still not working — let’s try to figure this out together.
Here are a few steps you can try to get it working:
Check Internet Explorer Settings:
- Open Internet Explorer.
- Go to Tools (you can press Alt + X).
- Select Internet Options → Connections tab → LAN settings.
- Make sure that "Automatically detect settings" is checked and nothing else is selected.
Reset Internet Explorer:
- In Internet Explorer, go to Tools → Internet Options.
- Under the Advanced tab, click Reset.
- Restart your computer after this step.
Check Proxy Settings:
- Open Control Panel → Internet Options.
- Under the Connections tab, click LAN Settings.
- Make sure the proxy server option is unchecked (unless you're using one intentionally).
Update Network Drivers:
- Go to Device Manager (you can search for it in the Start menu).
- Expand Network Adapters.
- Right-click your network adapter and select Update Driver → Search automatically for updated driver software.
Test with a Different Browser:
If the issue persists, try installing a different browser like Chrome or Firefox. If they work, the problem might be specific to Internet Explorer.
Let me know how it goes or if you need more help — happy to troubleshoot further! 😊
Take care, and have an amazing day!
