I did a reboot of my laptop using a usb of the HP cloud recovery tool. My laptop still would not boot up. It said I did not have windows 11 installed. So I got a download of windows 11 and when I installed that it gets to a certain point and brings up a screen that says Let's connect you to a network but then it is blank after that. No networks show up on the screen. What can I do about this?

Hi:
Your notebook may have a Wi-Fi adapter that W11 doesn't have a driver for.
You can set up W11 without the need for an internet connection by following the guidance at the link below.
How to bypass internet connection to install Windows 11 - Pureinfotech
Then you can install the Wi-Fi driver from your notebook's support page.
HP ENVY 17.3 inch Laptop PC 17-cr0000 (538A1AV) Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Customer Support
It is probably the Mediatek Wi-Fi driver you need, because W11 would probably have included the Intel Wi-Fi drivers automatically, and you would not be in your present dilemma.

Thank you Paul_Tikkanen for helping me solve my problem. I was able to get the computer up and running but I still can't get the internet connections to come up. I have tried installing drivers but that doesn't seem to work. Could you help me with that?

You're very welcome.
Go to the device manager.
Are there any devices showing up under an Other Devices category with little ! marks next to them?
If one of them labeled as a Network Controller?
If so, that is the Wi-Fi adapter in need of a driver.
If you see such a device, please post the hardware ID for it so I can figure out what driver it needs.
Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID for a device.
How to Find Drivers for Unknown Devices in the Device Manager (howtogeek.com)
If you do not see a Network Controller device listed in the device manager, look under the Network Adapters device manager category.
Is there a name and model Wi-Fi adapter listed there? Does it report working properly?
