Hi everyone, My Dad's laptop that he uses for work has been giving him problems ever since he upgraded to windows 10, he said it was really slow all the time, so I recommended switching out the SSHD that's already in there, with an ssd, as this gave me a massive performance boost.
Before spening £150 on an SSD I thought it might be a good idea to try putting my SSD(from my desktop) into the laptop, however the laptop wont pick it up in the bios, it just tells me to install an os, despite the fact that my SSD is what i run windows 10 from. So I decided to come on here and ask you guys to see if you know whats up, or if this would prevent us from putting a new SSD with a fresh install of Windows 10.
There's only one port on the mobo of the laptop so only one drive can run in there at a time.

I reviewed your post and I understand that the SSD is not getting detected on your computer.
I’d love to help!
I recommend you run an HDD check in bios and check if the HDD is detected.
If the issue persists, I recommend you disable secure boot and enable legacy support and test.
Here is how it is done;
Let me know how it goes and you have a good day ahead.
