@Arseno, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.
I understand how frustrating it can be when your notebook is running slow. Let's work together to identify and fix the issue. Here are some steps you can follow to improve performance:
Check for Background Processes
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
- Look under the Processes tab to see which apps are using the most CPU, Memory, or Disk.
- Right-click and End Task for any unnecessary apps.
Disable Startup Programs
- In Task Manager, go to the Startup tab.
- Disable programs you don’t need to start with Windows.
Run HP Support Assistant
HP Support Assistant can automatically detect issues and optimize performance.
- Download or open it from here: HP Support Assistant | HP® Support
- Run a System Tune-Up and check for Updates.
Check for Windows Updates
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
- Install any pending updates.
Free Up Disk Space
- Use Storage Sense: Go to Settings > System > Storage and turn on Storage Sense.
- Delete temporary files and unused apps.
Scan for Malware
- Run a full scan using Windows Defender or any trusted antivirus software.
Check RAM and Storage
- If your notebook has less than 8GB RAM or uses a mechanical HDD, consider upgrading to:
- 16GB RAM for smoother multitasking.
- SSD for faster boot and load times.
You can check your specs by:
- Pressing Windows + R, type msinfo32, and hit Enter.
Reset or Refresh Windows (if needed)
If the issue persists, you can reset Windows while keeping your files:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > Reset this PC.
I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.
Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
