Hi @EmmaleighRhodes

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Here's the step-by-step process to set up a PIN on your Windows 11 device:

Open Settings:

Click on the Start button and select Settings (or press Windows + I).

Go to Sign-in Options:

Navigate to Accounts > Sign-in options in the Settings window.

Select PIN Option:

Under Sign-in options, locate the PIN (Windows Hello) section and click on Set up.

Verify Your Identity:

You may be asked to verify your identity using your Microsoft account password or another authentication method.

Create Your PIN:

Enter a PIN of your choice. Ensure it's something secure and easy to remember.

Optionally, you can include letters and symbols if you want a stronger PIN by selecting the respective checkbox.

Save: Confirm and save your new PIN.

If you're encountering issues while setting up a PIN on your Windows 11 device, here are some troubleshooting steps that might help:

1. Check Your Internet Connection
Make sure your device is connected to the internet, as PIN setup often requires verifying your Microsoft account online.

2. Sign in with Your Microsoft Account Again
Go to Settings > Accounts > Your info and ensure you're signed in with your Microsoft account. If not, log in, then try setting up your PIN.

3. Clear the Existing PIN (if any)
In Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options, select the Remove option under the PIN section if one exists. Then set up a new PIN.

4. Check Windows Update
Outdated system files might cause issues. Go to Settings > Windows Update and ensure your device has the latest updates installed.

5. Use the "I Forgot My PIN" Option
If the issue persists, click on the "I forgot my PIN" link in the PIN setup screen. This will guide you through a reset process.

6. Restart the Device
After completing any of these steps, restart your device and attempt the PIN setup again.

If this solution hits the spot, please come back and click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left of the public post, as that would make our day!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Regards,
