Pavillion
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Good morning

I've just turned on my Pavillion and was sent straight to do a test on the HD - the result was a HD failure with the code ggfcq3-9lnase-xd7xg1-60tb03.

Basically I'm wondering what I should do next, please, apart from a swift back up of course.

Thank you 🙂

Hi,

You should replace the hard drive.

Your machine should support an M2 PCIe NVMe SSD which would give an amazing boost to the everyday performance of the machine.

You should first check if the physical slot is present on the motherboard, as sometimes not present in models which did not come with M2 SSD.

On page 39 of the service manual, you can see the steps to remove the bottom cover.

If the slot is not present you can replace the Hard Drive (in any case remove the old drive) with a 2.5" SATA3 SSD.

You can create a USB Drive directly from Microsoft to reinstall the OS (on a different PC)

Hope it helps,

David
