Good afternoon,

I need help with my laptop.

The problem started earlier this week; after using the laptop for several hours,

it began to become very slow and impossible to open documents or applications.

I suspect it has to do with Wi-Fi, I think, or some other problem you might not know about.

For more details, it is a:

HP 15-fc0008np (7S4D8EA) Laptop

with Windows 11 Home

Awaiting your support

Regards

Hi,

Since the laptop becomes very slow after several hours of use, this may not be only a Wi-Fi issue. It could be related to background processes, high disk/CPU/RAM usage, overheating, Windows Update, or a driver problem.

Please try the following checks:

  1. When the laptop becomes slow, open Task Manager using Ctrl + Shift + Esc.
  2. Check which item is high:
    • CPU
    • Memory
    • Disk
    • Network

If one process is using a very high percentage, that may identify the cause.

You can also try these steps:

  1. Restart the laptop and check if the issue returns only after several hours.
  2. Make sure Windows Update is fully completed.
  3. Update the BIOS and drivers from the official HP support page for the exact model: HP 15-fc0008np (7S4D8EA).
  4. Update or reinstall the Wi-Fi driver from HP Support, not only from Windows Update.
  5. Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI and test the memory and storage drive.
  6. Check the laptop temperature and make sure the vents are not blocked.
  7. Check available free storage space on the C: drive.
  8. Run these commands as Administrator:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

sfc /scannow

  1. If the issue happens mainly when connected to Wi-Fi, test using another Wi-Fi network or temporarily disable Wi-Fi and check whether the laptop still slows down.

If possible, please share a screenshot of Task Manager when the laptop becomes slow. That will help identify whether the issue is caused by CPU, memory, disk, network, or a specific application.

Hope this helps.
