@jcpktech52, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.

I understand you're encountering the persistent Windows Update error:

Hewlett-Packard - USB - 11/11/2018 - 49.0.4395.18315
Install error - 0x80070103

The error code 0x80070103 typically means that Windows is trying to install a driver that is either:

  • Already installed, or
  • Incompatible with your current system configuration.

Here's how you can resolve or suppress this update:

Option 1: Manually Update the Printer Driver

  1. Visit the official HP support page for your printer model.
  2. Download and install the latest driver for Windows 11.
  3. Restart your PC and check Windows Update again.

Option 2: Use Windows Update Troubleshooter

  1. Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
  2. Find Windows Update and click Run.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to fix update issues.

Option 3: Block the Driver Update

If the update keeps reappearing and your printer is working fine, you can block Windows from installing this specific driver:

  1. Press Windows + I to open Settings.
  2. Go to System > About > Advanced system settings.
  3. In the new window, click the Hardware tab.
  4. Click Device Installation Settings.
  5. Select No (your device might not work as expected) and click Save.

This will prevent Windows from automatically pushing driver updates that may not be necessary.

I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.

Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
