I ran a diagnostic and got this message: The test found a problem with the AC adapter and it may need to be replaced.
What are my next steps from here. I haven't been able to consistently charge my laptop. And this is the second cord I've purchase.

Welcome to our HP User Forum!
According to: https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer/?searchtext=66B44UAR&searchby=product, your HP ENVY X360 15.6 Inch 2-In-1 Laptop PC 15-Ey0000 (54J83AV) was sold with a 65-watt USB-C charger, with p/n: M54350-001 "SKO-65W Slim AC Adapter USB-C".
In a nutshell -and in my opinion, you would be better off with a bigger (wattage) capacity charger, such as this quality 95-watt purchase example via Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Replacement-15T-BL000-15T-CH000-EliteBook-Chromebook/dp/B0B84WM9YS/ref=sr_1_6....
This charger will run not as hot as the original 65-watt charger, which will increase its longevity.
Hope this was helpful.
Kind Regards,
