How did this happen?
Before trying any type of recovery you need to run diagnostics and verify the memory and disk drive have no problems.
Tap the ESC key a few times after powering on to run diagnostics.
For any further help we need to know the model or product ID of your HP notebook and what Operating System you have or are trying to install or recover.
