HP ENVY x360 - 15-ds0013ca

HP Envy X360 was working fine under Windows 10.  Also seemed to be fine after recent update to Windows 11 22H2 but now after the update to 23H2 the Hibernate feature no longer works.  Screen briefly shows "locked" then "hibernating" and the notebook by all appearances seems to hibernate but the power does not shut off and the notebook reboots to a resumed desktop with any open apps restored.

So appears to enter hibernation, but does not power down.  Sleep appears to work OK.

Steps taken to resolve:

1) removed USB attached mouse and external USB storage

2) deleted and recreated the HIB file

3) Ran Windows update

4) Checked for new or updated drivers

5) Reset and recreated Power configurations and profiles

6) Ran DISM & SFC procedure to check system files, and OS Integrity and cleanup

7) Downloaded and re-installed the lost AMD power profiles and other now missing chipset drivers

8] Ran POWERCFG diagnostic report for Sleep and Hibernate (HTML report generated)

9) Opened a ticket on Microsoft after searching.  CHATGPT reports others with same/similar issue.

10) Ran DIAGNOSTIC startup (MSCONFiG), no change.

Nothing worked.  Hibernate remains broken.

See if the sleep study and energy report provide any help

The report seems to show the system going into or attempting to go into HIBERNATE mode but then another entry of battery exhaust afterwards presumably because it had rebooted with the lid closed.
