@MaarifTech, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're having a bit of trouble with your HP laptop's hotkeys, especially the backlit keyboard hotkey. Let's see if we can sort this out together.

First, let's try disabling and reinstalling the hotkeys services. Here are the steps:

Disable Hotkeys Services:

  • Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog box.
  • Type services.msc and press Enter.
  • In the Services window, look for services related to hotkeys or HP hotkeys (e.g., "HP Hotkey Support").
  • Right-click on the service and select Stop.

Reinstall Hotkeys Services:

  • Go to the HP Support website and download the latest version of the HP Hotkey Support driver for your laptop model.
  • Install the driver and restart your laptop.

If the backlit keyboard hotkey still isn't working after reinstalling the hotkeys services, try the following:

Check BIOS Settings:

  • Restart your laptop and press F10 (or the key specified for BIOS setup) during startup to enter the BIOS.
  • Look for settings related to the keyboard backlight and ensure it is enabled.
  • Save changes and exit the BIOS.

Update Keyboard Driver:

  • Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  • Expand the Keyboards section.
  • Right-click on your keyboard device and select Update driver.
  • Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
