I purchased a friends laptop from him which was his company laptop before he received a new one.  He failed to remove the Administrators and their passcodes.  How can I get logged in to remove them, so I can remove some of the company programs?

Thank you

Hi:

You won't be able to unless your friend can do it for you.

If you can still read all 25 characters of the W7 product key on your notebook's case, you may want to just clean install W7 and start fresh.

You can make your own W7 installation media as follows...

Click on the Windows ISO Downloader.exe link below to download the tool to create the W7 ISO file download.

This link downloads a file that accesses the Microsoft Techbench W7 ISO files and generates the ISO file download you need.

Select the Windows COEM ISO file download for the version of W7 the product key is good for.

I have zipped up and attached the Microsoft utility below, that will allow you to either put the file on a USB flash drive or DVD, or you can use a different free utility such as Rufus.

Then you can install the drivers and available software from the PC's support page...

All the company laptops I used had BIOS passwords configured -- and if that is the case with your laptop, most likely, only the company IT folks can remove that.

Also, since that laptop belonged to your friend's company, I'm not sure it was legal for them to sell it to you -- since it was not their property to sell. You would need to check with your friend's company about that.
