How can I get HP ESU for Window 8.1

Hi

Does HP have an ESU program for Windows 8.1?

I remember I did find the HP ESU program on my Windows 7 laptop, so I don't know if HP has ESU for Windows 8.1.

What are you referring to?

The only ESU's I know of are provided by Microsoft, not HP and they are only currently good for W10.

There are no ESU's for W8.1.

Here's what Micrsoft indicates about offering an ESU for W8.1:

Windows 8.1 support ended on January 10, 2023 - Microsoft Support

Microsoft will not be offering an Extended Security Update (ESU) program for Windows 8.1. Continuing to use Windows 8.1 after January 10, 2023 may increase an organization’s exposure to security risks or impact its ability to meet compliance obligations.

I did do some research, and that software means "Essential System Updates" not "Extended Security Update."

You're very welcome.

If you upgraded the notebook from W7 to W8.1, that software would not be applicable to the newer operating system.

You will probably find unless you have a HP business class notebook that HP has retired support for your notebook since it is more than 10 years old.
