Hi @narmiyah,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like you are encountering an issue where the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI tool hangs at 60% during startup on your OMEN Laptop - 17-Cb1725ng.
Here are some steps you can try to resolve this issue:
Hard Reset: Perform a hard reset on your laptop. This can resolve many startup issues. To do this, turn off the laptop, disconnect all external devices, and remove the battery if possible. Hold down the power button for 15-20 seconds, then reconnect the battery and power supply and try starting the laptop again.
BIOS Update: Check if there's a BIOS update available for your laptop. An outdated BIOS can sometimes cause compatibility issues with diagnostic tools. You can find BIOS updates on the HP Support website for your specific model. Click Here
Reinstall HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI: Try uninstalling the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI tool and then reinstalling it. A fresh installation might resolve any glitches that occurred during the initial installation. https://support.hp.com/in-en/help/hp-pc-hardware-diagnostics
Run in Safe Mode: Try booting your laptop in Safe Mode. If the diagnostic tool works in Safe Mode, it could indicate a conflict with other software or drivers on your system.
Enter Safe Mode from Windows
- Press the f4 key for Enable Safe Mode. Safe Mode starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and services.
- Press the f5 key for Enable Safe Mode with Networking. ...
- Press the f6 key for Enable Safe Mode with Command Prompt.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi @Rachel571,
I started the UEFI tool, Version 10.3.0.0, outside of the operating system (Windows) - before Windows starts, therefore:
- I cannot run in any (safe or default) mode of Windows
- I cannot find the UEFI tool, Version 10.3.0.0, under "Add or Remove Programs"
How can I uninstall UEFI – Version 10.3.0.0?
Regards,
Michael.
