Hi @Jimmy45

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how unsettling it feels when the operating system is wiped from the original drive and the computer cannot start. Thank you for already checking the situation—it shows real attentiveness.

The good news is that you can reinstall Windows on your HP computer with a fresh copy. Let’s go through the steps together:

Prepare another computer and a USB drive (8 GB or larger)

  • You’ll need a working Windows PC to download the installation files.
  • Insert the USB drive into that computer.

Download the Windows installation tool

Install Windows on your HP computer

  • Insert the USB drive into your HP computer.
  • Power it on and press the key for boot options (usually F9 or Esc, depending on the model).
  • Select the USB drive as the boot device.
  • Follow the on‑screen instructions to install Windows.
  • During installation, choose “I don’t have a product key” if prompted—the system will activate automatically once connected to the internet, since your HP device has a digital license tied to its hardware.

Install HP drivers and software

  • Once Windows is installed, visit HP’s support page for your model to download drivers and utilities:
    https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers
  • Enter your product name or number to get the correct drivers.

With these steps, you’ll have a fresh copy of Windows running on your HP computer, along with the drivers needed for smooth performance. Would you like me to also share how to create a recovery USB from HP Recovery Manager in case you want to keep a backup for future use?
