Hi @scozzie,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To remove a Power-On Password from an HP Pavilion Gaming 15 laptop, you'll need to follow these steps.
Enter the BIOS Setup:
- Power off the laptop.
- Turn it back on and immediately press the F10 key repeatedly until the BIOS setup utility opens.
Navigate to the Security Settings:
- Use the arrow keys to navigate to the "Security" tab.
- Look for an option called "Set Password" or "Power-On Password".
Remove the Password:
- Select the "Set Password" or "Change Password" option.
- When prompted for the current password, enter the existing password (if you don't know it, you'll need to follow the steps for resetting or clearing the BIOS password).
- Leave the new password fields blank to remove the password and confirm your choice.
Save and Exit:
- Go to the "File" menu.
- Select "Save Changes and Exit" (often accessed by pressing F10).
- Confirm your changes and exit the BIOS.
Note: Always back up important data before making significant changes to BIOS settings or hardware.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
