Hello all, I am in need of help with my chromebook. I was googling a website when I received the following message:
Microsoft Windows Activation Error 0xC004FC03 - Call windows support at ....
When I called the number - the tech wanted to access my home network through my "other" laptop. I declined and hung up then started researching the matter. I am not sure how to resolve the above error on the chromebook and would appreciate any help regarding this matter.
Thank you in advance for your help regarding this matter.

That message is the start of a scam. Take look at this site

For one thing - if you are using a chromebook, there cannot be a legit "Microsoft Windows Activation Error 0xC004FC03 " because you are not using Windows. You are lucky to get out of that scam. The website where you got that message is not trustworthy.
If you are still getting that error, then you have an infected laptop. Since it is a Chromebook, reinstall the Chrome OS.
Here is the manual for that model
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06162317
Page 40 and 41 tells how to recover the OS.
I'm not an HP employee.
