Everytime I turn on my computer it has a blue screen that has this message: Stop code: CRITICAL PROCESS DIED. I have no idea what I should do to resolve it. I can't go to the web site it suggests--http://windows.com/stopcode. Please. How do I get back into my computer?

Greetings @CPRussell,
Welcome to HP Forums and Thanks for the post.
I understand that your computer is not booting the desktop, is that right?
Kudos to you for trying to troubleshoot the issue on your own.
Not to worry, I will be glad to assist you.
Have you tried to run a system test on your computer?
Have you made any changes on your computer, recently?
Shut Down the computer it is On.
Wait for a minute.
Turn the computer ON and keep tapping F2 repeatedly on startup to enter System diagnostics.
Run a system test on your computer to make sure all the components are working fine.
If any of the tests fail, please replace the failed component or contact our phone support for any service options available.
If all the tests pass, restart your computer and keep tapping F11 repeatedly to enter Recovery manager.
Perform a system restore on your computer to a date when the computer was working fine and check.
Let me know how it goes.

Some blue screen errors might occur after a specific update is installed on your device. If you get a blue screen error after an update, try to fix the error by uninstalling recent updates.
To do this, you'll need to sign in to Windows using safe mode. Safe mode starts Windows in a basic state, using a limited set of files and drivers and allows you to perform troubleshooting steps.
Before you enter safe mode, you need to enter the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE ). Here’s how:
- Hold down the power button for 10 seconds to turn off your device.
- Press the power button again to turn on your device.
- On the first sign that Windows has started (for example, some devices show the manufacturer’s logo when restarting) hold down the power button for 10 seconds to turn off your device.
- Press the power button again to turn on your device.
- When Windows restarts, hold down the power button for 10 seconds to turn off your device.
- Press the power button again to turn on your device.
- Allow your device to fully restart to enter WinRE.
Now that you are in WinRE, follow these steps to take you to safe mode.
Note
If you’ve encrypted your device, you’ll need your BitLocker key to start in safe mode.
- On the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.
- After your device restarts, you'll see a list of options. The preferred option is to select 5 or press F5 for Safe Mode with Networking.
Once your device is in safe mode, follow these steps to uninstall recent update in Control Panel:
- In the search box on the taskbar, type control panel, and then select Control Panel from the list of results.
- Select Uninstall a program under Programs. If you’re using Large/Small icons View, Select Uninstall a program under Programs and Features.
- On the left-hand side, select View installed updates, and then select Installed On to sort the updates by their installation date to view the latest updates.
- Right-click the update you want to uninstall, and then select Yes to confirm.
Note
Some updates won’t give you the option to uninstall.
- Select Restart Now to completely uninstall the update.
Note
If you need to exit safe mode, here's how:
- Press the Windows logo key + R.
- In the Open box, type msconfig, and then select OK.
- Select the Boot tab.
- Under Boot options, clear the Safe boot check box.
If you need more info or help with updates, see the Windows Update: FAQ.
