Hey folks — need help, stuck and a bit embarrassed here.

Long story short: I forgot the Windows 11 login password on my HP laptop (Spectre x360, 2019) and I’m completely locked out. It’s my personal machine with all my stuff on it — photos, work docs, the lot. I tried the obvious (guessing passwords until lockout, checked if it was signed to my Microsoft account) but no luck.

Anyone got real, safe ways to unlock hp laptop forgot password Windows 11?  I’d like:

• Methods that don’t wipe my data if possible.
• If HP support can help (what proof they want, any costs?).

Appreciate step-by-step tips or links to recent guides — tried to search but results are mixed and some advice looks sketchy. Thanks!

The official way to unlock hp laptop by resetting Windows 11 password:

  1. If the "Enter password" window is still open select Forgotten your password?
  2. Choose how you want to receive a verification code.
  3. Retype the first part of the email address or the last four digits of the phone number hinted at in the previous window.
  4. Go to the recovery phone or email for where you expect to receive the code.
  5. Confirm the code to create a new password.
