When I check the status of warranty this is what it says:

Warranty status details for your product:   Product sold without warranty

[personal information removed]

Hi

Please do not post Serial Numbers.

2 things come to mind;

First in the UK the Warranty is with the seller, like Argos, Asda or PC World, not with the manufacturer.

Secondly a "refurb" can have zero warranty, sold as seen.

Read System SKU: N6K07EA
So if the SKU was  N6K07EAR    the R suggests Refurb.

Although I stand to be corrected.

I'm NOT talking about refurbs... I'm talking brand new laptops. Somehow 3rd party vendors are buying them directly from HP without a warranty.  These units have been reurned to the manufacurer because they weren't working.  Instead of HP repairing them and reselling them HP just sells them as they are with no warranty. I was just wondering if anyone else has run ito this issue?

Also I did NOT post the Serial or product #s as it you looked at them I X'd out the last numbers.

You asked a strange question.

But luckily you know about the practice and wont get caught out by buying one.

ALSO one of my Macro's is...

Make, Model and OS please.
SKU: if possible by this method
WinKey + R and type msinfo32 Line 9
System SKU: N6K07EA#ABU

Please do not post Serial Numbers.

So post the full SKU.
