HP laptop 15-au123cl
I bought an HP laptop 15-au123cl one month ago. Since then I did nothing except the repairing the basic function of this machine. On the 2nd day of buying, I tested the “System-Restore” and failed! It says: ………………………………. System Restore failed. Source: AppStaging …………………………………………… ………………(0x80070091) Experts from Forum suggested me to run a program in the Safe-Mode and I found that my machine can’t boot into safe-mode. It says: This App can’t open. Tips can’t be opened using the Build-in Administrator’s account. …………………………………………………………………… The 3rd trouble: the Flash-Drive, it always double/twice displays on the Navigation Pane under and parallel to This PC respectively. For the troubles above, I have been the constant visitor of your FORUM. Up to now they didn’t solved and I have spent too much time. I have decided to buy a new laptop again. The key question is: If I buy a new laptop again, how avoid meeting these troubles again??!! Help me please! Please help me!!! --Zhao PS: Followed the instructions from FROUM, I did 2-time RESET and 1-time RECOVERY

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.

I understand that you have an HP Pavilion - 15-au123cl. I read that it does not boot to the safe mode and also the Microsoft system restore fails. I further read that you have tried a lot of steps from the HP Forums and also perform a system recovery. I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job.

How to: Boot your Windows 10 into safe mode:

a)Open run dialog box by pressing Windows key + R key together.
Then type msconfig in the box and hit Enter.

b)On the pop-up window, view on Boot pane.
Then tick on Safe boot and click OK.
Click Restart, if prompted by system configuration
Then your Windows 10 would get into safe mode.

2)Open quick-access menu by pressing Windows key + X key.
Then click Command Prompt(Admin) to run it as administrator.
When prompted by User Account Control, click Yes.

Type the following commands and hit Enter to run them one by one:
• cd C:\Program Files
takeown /f WindowsApps /r /d Y
icacls WindowsApps /grant “%USERDOMAIN%\%USERNAME%”:(F) /t
• attrib WindowsApps -h
• rename WindowsApps WindowsApps.old

4)Follows the a) & b) of Step 1 to open System Configuration Window.
This time uncheck Safe boot to reboot your Windows 10.
5)When it finishes rebooting, run System Restore again.

Let me know if this helps Take care! 🙂
