Hello All Friends:
I meet a new and old question.
When I was using wXP, GHOST was my BACKUP and RESTORE system reliable
tool. I always to use it to backup my using system wXP and restore the previous one
while necessary for many years.
Since I started using the w10, I changed to use "System Restore Point" to backup
the using system and restore the previous if necessary.
Today on the Internet, I found there is " Norton Ghost for w10"
I am surprising to see the new using of old familar software.
Could ypu please tell me how is the GHOST to use in the w10? Should I continue? --Zhao

Hi @hz363
Thank you for posting in the HP Support forum, my friend.
Norton Ghost was a good software long time ago. Unfortunately everything changes and good things come to an end.
Norton Ghost has been discontinued long time ago - official announement > https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/norton-ghost/current/solutions/v86337130_EndUserProfile_en_us
Symantec (the Norton vendor) does offer some Ghost software for business customers but this is slightly different and lot more expensive.
And here is the official announcement that Ghost is not compatible with Windows 8 and Windows 10 >> https://community.norton.com/en/forums/norton-ghost-has-been-discontinued
Personally, I haven't used Ghost for years and haven't tested it with Windows 7, 8 or 10 but suspect you might not be able to boot a PC from a Ghost live disc.
Alternatives you can have a look :
-> Clonezilla - GNU Linux-based live discs, works with any OS as long as you can boot the PC with it (BIOS/UEFI settings)
Site: http://clonezilla.org/
Tutorial : http://www.geekyprojects.com/cloning/how-to-use-clonezilla-tutorial/
These images can be stored on a an external USB pen drive, external or internal HDDs.
-> Windows 7, 8 and even 10 have built-in system imaging solutions. They can be created inside Windows (while Windows is running) and also you can boot from a Windows recovery media or Windows installation media and restore the system image. These images can be stored on a an external HDD or a set of DVDs. Info:

Let me know if this works/helps.
