WMP is still available in Windows 10 and by default it will pop up when you play videos or musics but it does not support MANY formats.
I normally don't use WMP, I use VLC which can play nearly all video and audio formats (free), please download from the following link and install to your computer:
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html
Regards.

Hello banhein:
Thank you so much!
I have downloaded and installed the VLC 2.2.6 64bit. It looks good for playing the formats I am comcerning.
One strange thing happeded. The unknown PowerMediaPlayer intruded in my w10 weeks ago. I disregarded it at that time. Now I found it plays my *.DAT in my pc.
I checked the Conprol Panel > Programs > Uninstall a Program / .... and File Explorer > Windows > My Program >.....
and My Program(x86), surprisingly I did not find it!!
Where does it hide? How drive it away? --- Zhao
