How to data recovery if computer won't start

Hello,

 

Thank you for posting in the HP Support Community.

 

If your Windows cannot start but the PC can, then you may use Windows recovery options or you may boot from Linux-based OS. Here are some example instructions:

If your PC cannot start at all, then you will need to get your storage device out (HDD/SSD/eMMC/etc) and try to plug this device to another PC to read the data. If the HDD/SSD is a SATA type (most popular), then, you can use a USB<->SATA cable:
